Grandpa Compton

So I know it's been forever and a day since I've updated anything. I have been so stressed I can't think straight. Grandpa Compton passed away Oct. 6. Some of Justin's family came to town for the funeral. Mike and Marissa and their 3 boys stayed with us one night. I only worked 1 1/2 days that week. And it seems like ever since then I've just been running ragged. I just feel 2 steps behind no matter what I do. Anyways, I have other updates, but first and foremost... Dawn has been trying to get me to send her pics for the family calender for next year and it made me think to post our family pics from the week of the funeral. It was definitely a bitter sweet time. Grandpa Compton was as much my grandpa as Justin's. I know my sisters and brother in laws feel the same way. He was one of the best men I ever had the privilege to meet. The week of his funeral was a time for family and a wonderful celebration of his life. I enjoyed that time so much. Justin's cousins Jon and Jennifer came. Their mother (Danny's sister) passed away while here on vacation last August. I wish we lived closer (they're from Tennessee), Justin doesn't have a lot of extended family and I think I would like spending time with Jennifer especially. We're the same age. If you look at the Compton Family album, Jennifer's little girl is the only brunette in the pic with all the cousins. Hands down one of the cutest girls EVER!!! And a killer southern accent to boot. :) Anyways, I had family on the mind and felt compelled to express my appreciation for Grandpa Compton and the rest of my in-law family. And as Cory so eloquently put it at the funeral, "It's not goodbye, just goodbye for now."
